Economic Cycle Research Institute Managing Director Lakshman Achuthan, whose group has an excellent track record of economic forecasting, says that the current recovery is the Rodney Dangerfield of recoveries — it’s not getting any respect. Achuthan tells Bloomberg that a number of pieces of data are showing that the recovery is stronger than many think, and that we won’t see a dip back into recession this year. Achuthan adds, however, that he thinks we’ve entered a longer period in which we will see more frequent recessions — which means buy-and-hold investing is “dead”.
